From a socio-anthropological and sometimes philosophical perspective the photographic works presented do not merely convey an aesthetic experience or simply a documentation of reality, rather aim to assume an interpretative, critical, and symbolic function in relation to current culture and social practices. Through visual language, emerging themes of undeniable importance are explored, such as the construction of one’s identity in an increasingly digital and complex world, inequalities, social exclusion, the representation of minorities, gender-based violence, and femicide, among others. The viewer is especially invited to reflect on the importance of recovering both individual and collective memory as tools for re-evaluating and disseminating the founding values of human existence and society as a whole, and to take responsibility for the necessity of appropriate public and private educational interventions.
