The project Human Landscape.

Equalities and inequalities in the globalised era was created with the aim of provoking emotional responses and reflections on contemporary humanity, encouraging the development of new values for possible civil coexistence. The randomness of the images helps to highlight the expressiveness of the photographic gesture, prompting reflection on the need to move beyond old “cultural enclosures” in favour of an increasingly global and interconnected reality.

The work gathers heterogeneous, everyday situations, presenting a human landscape made up of shared experiences and behaviours that unite individuals beyond their differences. Each image thus becomes a testimony to a shared dignity.

Culture, as Crespi argues, is what makes social reality predictable: a system of rules and values that allows individuals to orient themselves and interact with one another. However, every culture is born from historical and contingent choices that, over time, we tend to consider absolute. When we come into contact with different societies, we lose some of those habitual references that define our identity.

Human Landscape therefore aims to recount this complexity, showing how, despite differences, there exists a common thread of experiences and values that unites every human being.
